The Royal Palm hotel stands proud, on the world famous Collins Avenue. Originally built by well-known railroad magnate Henry Flagler in Miami, Florida. The Royal Palm Hotel opened its doors in 1897 and was one of the first area hotels in Miami.
The hotel oozes style, in keeping with its art deco roots of the twenties.
The rooms are spacious and modern and some of the rooms feel more like beachside apartments. Which is an added bonus, especially in Miami where rooms can often be on the slightly smaller side. I really appreciate the decor and all of these points were the reason we went back to stay at the Royal Palm very shortly after our first stay.
The Plus Points
Situated at the top of Colins Avenue with direct access straight onto the beach, there couldn't be a better location.
Ask for a sea view, we stayed initially in the building to the left hand side with an external walkway and then on our second visit in the main building (Yes, we liked it that much we went back!) But we much preferred the first room, more spacious by far and this element made the stay feel more luxurious.
The little things
The Breakfast offering - There wasn't a lot on offer, this could be improved on. Especially to cater for dietary requirements of the modern age.
Toiletries- The Royal palm has nice toiletries on offer, but I would have preferred the smaller variety, rather than them being fastened to the wall.
Great hotel all round. Perfect location, stylish and comfortable rooms If you are looking for the perfect hotel in Miami, this is it.
